Middleton-in-Teesdale is a large village in County Durham, in England. It is situated on the north side of Teesdale between Eggleston and Newbiggin, a few miles to the north west of Barnard Castle. Middleton is administered by Teesdale District Council and Durham County Council. It is part of the Bishop Auckland parliamentary constituency. The small market town in Upper Teesdale expanded in the early 19th century when the London Lead Company moved its northern headquarters there from Blanchland in Northumberland.
