Cheddar is a large village and civil parish in the district of Sedgemoor in the English county of Somerset. It is situated on southern edge of the Mendip Hills in the north west of Wells. The village is famous for having its name called as Cheddar cheese, which is the most popular type of cheese in the United Kingdom. Two of the active Quarries of the Mendip Hills are Batts Combe quarry and Callow Rock quarry . Cheddar has a number of active service clubs like Cheddar Vale Lions Club, Mendip Rotary Club and Mendip Inner Wheel Club.
